TESTS ORGANISED BY HOSPITAL DOCTORS
We do not get results of tests requested by hospital doctors. These are sent straight to the hospital and you should contact the secretary of the consultant/ specialist you are under. Results from these tests are usually available at your next hospital appointment.
The phlebotomist is available to take blood every Tuesday and Thursday morning. The clinic is open from 8.30 am until 11.30 am. All of the appointments for the blood clinics are pre-bookable by telephoning the practice on 02920 524140.
Please remember on the day of your blood test you must book in at reception, even if you have a pre-booked appointment so that the phlebotomist knows you have arrived. The phlebotomy clinic is on floor 1.
Before attending for a blood test your doctor or nurse will have told you which tests are needed and you may have a form to give to the phlebotomist. We can also take blood tests requested by your hospital doctor, it is important that you bring any forms with you.
Please allow at least five working days before telephoning the surgery for your result. Complex test results may take long than this to reach the surgery, and your doctor, nurse, health care assistant or phlebotomist will let you know how long to wait before contacting us for the result.
Please telephone Tuesday to Friday after 10.30 am for blood results. Patients calling for results on a Monday will be asked to call later in the week.
Please allow at least seven working days before telephoning the surgery for your result. Sometimes the result will take longer than this and your doctor, nurse or health care assistant will let you know how long to wait before contacting us for the result.
Please phone after 2.00 pm for your result, as these results are received at the surgery at lunchtime and processed by early afternoon.
